Frequently asked questions.

What can I expect from our first appointment?

First appointments center around introductions and beginning to feel comfortable within the space of therapy. I will explain elements of the therapeutic process such as privacy and confidentiality before asking about your personal hopes for participating in counseling. First appointments often include questions about various background areas that could be relevant for our work together. Once these are discussed, we can begin collaborating on identifying goals.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! I accept most Florida-based insurance providers, including Aetna, Cigna, United, Optum, Oscar, and Florida Blue. Self-pay rates are also available at $175/hr.

Is there a wait-list?

No. There is no wait list at this time. Appointments can be scheduled as soon as the same week pending the completion of relevant paperwork.

Do you have an in-person location?

Not at the moment. Currently, all appointments are conducted online via a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform.

Is there a no-show fee?

Missed appointments or those canceled or rescheduled in under 24 hours notice are subject to a $125 no show fee. Appointments can be adjusted in advance of 24 hours for no fee.

Do you conduct assessments?

Diagnostic assessments are conducted as part of each initial appointment. Certain diagnoses such as ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorder may require a more comprehensive assessment battery. These types of assessments are not offered at this time.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. I collaborate to provide referrals to psychiatrists when clients request medication or it is deemed clinically relevant as a treatment consideration.
